The Plague. The sleep of reason produces monsters

Plague Doctor
"A plague doctor was a special medical physician who treated those who had the plague. They were specifically hired by towns that had many plague victims in times of epidemics. Since the city was paying their salary, they treated everyone: both the rich and the poor." ... "The nose half a foot long, shaped like a beak, filled with perfume with only two holes, one on each side near the nostrils, but that can suffice to breathe and to carry along with the air one breathes the impression of the drugs enclosed further along in the beak. Under the coat we wear boots made in
Moroccan leather (goat leather) from the front of the breeches in smooth skin that are attached to said boots and a short-sleeved blouse in smooth skin, the bottom of which is tucked into the breeches. The hat and gloves are also made of the same skin ... with spectacles over the eyes." ( wikipedia).

A plague of 20-th century - communism, fascism. 21-century plague - putinism, growing up on the soil of communism, stalinism and chekism. But masses don't want to see, hear and think. Syndrome unplugged consciousness - "people voluntarily refuse to think." . They don't want to think.
It is a plague of the brain. Unlike usual plague, people do not believe that they are sick. Invisibility to most contributes to the infection of more and more people. The sleep of reason produces monsters. "been a hundred and thirty-seven plague deaths on the previous day.. "
The disease occurs mainly through television propaganda. It educates the masses love to the Führer. The stronger the plague liquefies the brains of patients, the more they love it and are proud of them. "In other words, they had ceased to choose for themselves; plague had leveled out discrimination. This could be seen by the way nobody troubled about the quality of the clothes or food he bought. Everything was taken as it came."
Many countries gone through plague. But in the 21-century disease has spread in Russia again. Demons again found a victims. They are easily entered into it. And expel them would not be easy. But who will do it? Doctors can treat the patient when it is ready to be cured. In our case, the patients do not feel sick. They doctors consider sick, but themselves healthy. Therefore the death of the infected monster is not far off. Cure will come only with death.

"Calmly they denied, in the teeth of the evidence, that we had ever known a crazy world in which men were killed off like flies, or that precise savagery, that calculated frenzy of the plague, which instilled an odious freedom as to all that was not the here and now; or those charnel-house stenches which stupefied whom they did not kill . In short, they denied that we had ever been that hag-ridden populace a part of which was daily fed into a furnace and went up in oily fumes, while the rest, in shackled impotence, waited their turn."
"That the plague bacillus never dies or disappears for good; that it can lie dormant for years and years in furniture and linen-chests; that it bides its time in bedrooms, cellars, trunks, and bookshelves; and that perhaps the day would come when, for the bane and the enlightening of men, it would rouse up its rats again and send them forth to die in a happy city."
"If today the plague is in your midst, that is because the hour has struck for taking thought. The just man need have no fear, but the evildoer has good cause to tremble. For plague is the flail of God and the world His threshing-floor, and implacably He will thresh out His harvest until the wheat is separated from the chaff. There will be more chaff than wheat, few chosen of the many called.
Yet this calamity was not willed by God. Too long this world of ours has connived at evil, too long has it counted on the divine mercy, on God's forgiveness. Repentance was enough, men thought; nothing was forbidden. Everyone felt comfortably assured; when the day came, he would surely turn from his sins and repent. Pending that day, the easiest course was to surrender all along the line; divine compassion would do the rest. For a long while God gazed down on this town with eyes of compassion; but He grew weary of waiting, His eternal hope was too long deferred, and now He has turned His face away from us. And so, God's light withdrawn, we walk in darkness, in the thick darkness of this plague."

The demons are already hiding in an unknown hole, but then again they crawled up from the unknown holes. "But in those days when the plague seemed to be retreating, slinking back to the obscure lair from which it had stealthily emerged." The sleep of reason produces monsters.
20-century plague - fascism and communism killed millions of lives. Who will assume in 21 century the function of the "plague doctor" in Putin's Russia?
Quotes are taken from "The Plague" by Albert Camus.
