Mari and Håkon Samuelsen combine breathtaking musical finesse and virtuosity with imaginative and innovative approaches to presentation. Performing together for more than 20 years, this Norwegian brother and sister, violin and cello, duo have performed on some of the world’s most prestigious concert platforms, dedicated to broadening the appeal of classical music to an ever wider audience, and to extending the repertoire for violin and cello.
Mari plays a G. B. Guadagnini violin (Turin 1773) and Håkon performs on a Francesco Ruggieri cello (Cremona 1687). Both instruments are generously on loan from the Anders Sveeas Charitable Foundation, Norway.
