Ezio Bosso is an Italian composer, classical musician and conductor. Ezio begun to studies music with an aunt pianist. Formed in Vienna, with maestros Streicher, Österreicher and Schölckner, is now acclaimed as one of the leading musicians and composers of his generation. His style based on cellular patterns and his research on synesthesia, his unique work with strings instruments and his use of agogic, as well as the approaching to different musical languages, or his theories on the concept of empathic music are recognized by critics and audiences around all the world.
Bosso has ALS - a form of motor neuron disease. It is obvious that he has to exert enourmous effort to control his muscle movements. That is why the control he shows when playing is stunning.
Nel 2011 é il primo compositore non australiano a ricevere il prestigioso Green Room Award a Melbourne per la sua I sinfonia “Oceans” come Miglior Composizione ed Esecuzione. A marzo è Direttore Principale e Direttore Artistico dell'orchestra inglese The London Strings. È stato soggetto di varie Tesi di Laurea in Lettere Moderne e di una Tesi di Laurea in architettura. Il suo concerto per violino “Esoconcerto” è l'oggetto di un volume dal titolo “Eso, Lo spazio architettonico nella musica di Ezio Bosso”, un volume di ricerca sulla relazione tra Architettura e Musica della Facoltà di Architettura del Politecnico di Torino. Sempre nel 2011 è stato sottoposto a un intervento al cervello non precisato che ne ha compromesso le capacità motorie. “Re-birth”. Rinascere. Ne so qualcosa. il 21 di dicembre compio 18 mesi. La mia di profezia Maya si è avverata il 21 giugno del 2011 con netto anticipo sul calendario. Ero un altro uomo, con altre energie o meglio, con le energie distribuite in altro modo. Poi BUM! un botto e il mondo era finito. Mesi di Buio (fisico) di silenzio e di pensiero. E la ricostruzione lenta, che prosegue tutt’oggi. Quelle energie che sono cambiate, così come il mio corpo che riducendosi ha avuto il suo vero effetto: aumentare la portata del mio sorriso.
I sorrisi e la loro importanza.
E poi la musica che finisce e ritorna in altra forma.
Imparo che il mondo finisce solo nella paura.
Ma nella realtà, finisce un modo di vederlo il mondo, perché deve evidentemente finire e superando la paura ecco che ai nostri occhi si rileva il mondo nuovo.
Finisce la Paura.
E quel Mo(n)do è fatto della luce che forse avevamo perso.
Io credo alla profezia, perché ho visto le tenebre dissolversi in sorrisi. I silenzi siderali disgregarsi nel suono delle risate.
Perchè credo che stringendo le mani, le (gli) arti, gli sguardi e l’amore, il buio di questo mondo lascerà spazio a quella luce.
E per questo è meraviglioso per me festeggiare a Re-birth la rinascita con 2 brani. E’ il modo per me di dire grazie più naturale. Grazie a Michelangelo che lo ha inventato, a Catterina che me lo ha chiesto. A chi ci sarà e chi fa.
Lo farò con i miei 2 compagni fedeli di viaggio. Due grandi virtuosi come Relja Lukic e Giacomo Agazzini.
Dei brani che eseguiremo, uno è dedicato alla pioggia e si intitola “Rain, in Your Black Eyes” ed è basato sulle piogge, dalle prime gocce, alle piogge degli occhi. Dalla pioggia confortevole di un estate sotto un pergolato a quella in cui perdersi. La memoria, e la sua importanza. La memoria che rende liberi: il mio lavoro è questo in fondo. Collezionare memorie. E poi, in anteprima, il primo passo del mio nuovo mondo. Un lavoro che è nato dalla riflessione su ciò che resta quando sentiamo l’esigenza di provare a vederlo. E che sto condividendo chiedendo a chi vuole di lasciare un segno, un pensiero su quello che si sente che resti nella vita. Qualsiasi cosa. Si intitola “And The Things That Remain” e proseguirà e continuerà a nutrirsi delle nostre esperienze, il 21 dicembre ve ne offro una prima parte. Quella, appunto, uscita dopo il buio, la prima luce che ho incontrato dopo mesi dove ero impossibilitato a scrivere, comunicare, sentire.
Perchè quando nasciamo, la prima cosa che scopriamo è la luce. E anche quando Ri-nasciamo. Questo ho imparato. E Vorrei tanto condividerlo con chi vuole.

"Перерождение". Reborn. Я знаю, что 21 декабря оно составляет 18 месяцев. Мое пророчество исполнилось 21 июня 2011 года с чистым опережением графика. Я был еще человеком, с другими энергиями или лучше, с энергиями распределеными по-другому. Потом бах! и мир закончился. Месяцы Тьмы (физической) тишины и мысли. И медленная реконструкция, которая продолжается по сей день. Эти энергии, которые изменились, а также мое тело, которое получило свое истинное влияние: увеличило диапазон моей улыбки.
Улыбка и ее значение.
И тогда музыка заканчивается и возвращается в другой форме. Я узнаю, что мир заканчивается только в страхе. Но на самом деле, это заканчивается один из способов видеть мир, потому что, очевидно, закончится и преодоление страха в том, что наши глаза обнаруживают новый мир.
Заканчивается страх...
И что Мир действительно сделан из света, который, возможно, мы просто пропустили. Я считаю, что это пророчество, потому что я видел темноту исчезающую в улыбке. Звездное молчание распадается в звуке смеха. Потому что я считаю, искусство и любовь, оставляют место для света в темноте этого мира. И это замечательно для меня, отпраздновать перерождение 2-мя треками. Это наиболее естественный способ для меня, чтобы сказать спасибо. As a double bass soloist and musical director, Ezio has performed in Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Japan, Peru, Australia, South Africa, the USA and Israel. He has worked with orchestras such as Deutsche Kammervirtuosen, Wiener Streicher, Orchestra del Teatro Regio, Mantova Chamber Orchestra, Regional Orchestra of Lazio, Thscech Philamonik, Brest Ensemble, Lucero, Schubert Philarmonie, Orchestra dell’Accademia della Scala and Rome's Santa Cecelia Orchestra.
Ezio has received many awards and nominations over the years, and in 2004 was invited to take part in the Academy Awards selections in Los Angeles. His work for We Unfold was named Best Music/Sound Composition in Australia's 2010 Green Room Awards. Ezio is the only classical Italian composer to have won the prestigious Italian Music Award.

Italian composer, conductor, pianist and double bass player Ezio Bosso made his Royal Ballet debut in 2016 with the Company’s performances of Christopher Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour, created for San Francisco Ballet with an original score by Bosso.
Bosso was born in Turin and began studying music aged four. He made his professional debut aged 16 and performed as a soloist and conductor with such orchestras as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. He went on to study composition and conducting at the Vienna Academy, and later conducted at venues including Carnegie Hall, Palacio de las Bellas Artes, Mexico City, BOZAR, Brussels, Teatro Regio di Torino, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He composed his first music for film in 1989 and has since worked extensively in cinema, credits including Un amore and Io non ho paura, and in theatre with directors including James Thiérrée. In dance, he regularly composes for Rafael Bonachela and for companies including BalletBoyz, Scottish Dance Theatre, Sydney Dance Company, San Francisco Ballet, Harlem Ballet and Bonachela Dance Company.
Bosso’s other compositions include four operas, four symphonies, concertos and various quartets, piano trios and sonatas, working as both composer and conductor with such soloists as Mario Brunello and Sergei Krylov. His recordings include ‘The 12th Room’, a collection of solo piano works performed by Bosso, including his First Piano Sonata.
